Our client is an industry leader in the development and construction of infrastructure, that offers comprehensive and robust benefits program, and competitive salary! The ideal candidate will have 3+ years’ of HSE experience within the construction industry and be bilingual in French and English. This is a full-time, permanent role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Employee health and safety orientation
• Site specific safety orientation to workers, owners, and clients
• Training employees in fall protection, confined space entry, traffic protection, traffic control person, WHMIS, respiratory protection, emergency response
• Coordinate training Health and Safety trainings
• Conduct workplace inspections and audits
• Conduct behavioral observation in the workplace
• Update Material Safety Data Sheets as required
• Develop workplace plans
• Distribution of safety material, supplies and equipment
• Participate as a management member of Joint Health and Safety Committees
• Conduct studies and analyze accident trends
• Inspects project facilities and recommends corrective actions
• Co-ordinate activities of site-safety coordinators
• Develop return to work and modified work programs
• Accident/Incident investigations
• Liaise with Government agencies
• Prepare and assist with external safety audits
• Coordination of environmental issues
Required Knowledge and Experience:
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in the construction industry in a Health and Safety role
• Must be proficient in French and English.
• Strong knowledge of the Occupational Health and safety Act
• Strong knowledge of the Regulations for Construction Project
• Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work accurately under pressure
• Ability to work with limited supervision and to be proactive
• Adaptable to flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines
• Ability to work with others as a team
• Valid G driver’s license
