Position Overview
This is a full-time contract role as a member of the Supply Chain Procurement team in the Americas Region, responsible for Sourcing and Contracting of Road, Rail, and Intermodal Logistics Services.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop regional procurement strategies and manage sourcing & contracting for logistics services in line with operational and business requirements.
- Lead contract negotiations and placements with a focus on value creation for regional supply chain needs.
- Ensure all routes and rates are current; quote and contract new lanes promptly.
- Manage supplier performance, segment supplier base, and review KPIs to ensure expectations and value delivery.
- Collaborate internally with Supply Chain Management, Operations, Procurement, Legal, HR, EHSS, Sustainability, and Finance.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and category metrics for stakeholders.
- Provide market insights and trends to inform business decisions.
Job-Specific Skills
- Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) across all business levels and cultures.
- Proven expertise in negotiation, supplier management, analytics, and change management.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
- Fluent in English; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Economics, Supply Chain, or Business Administration (or Bachelor’s with extensive relevant experience).
- 10+ years in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, and contracting of land and intermodal transportation services.
- Minimum 7+ years directly managing procurement of rail transportation and logistics services in the Americas.
- Strong SAP experience; Ariba preferred.
