Our Partner, a fully integrated energy and chemicals enterprise, has an opening for a Chemical Engineer. This is an exciting direct hire opportunity to work for one of the most profitable companies in the world. This position will be located in the Middle East and will require relocation.

Overview

We are seeking a Chemical Engineer to work with the our Partner’s Engineering Division under the oil and gas Producing Department. It meets the company’s energy demands in reliable, efficient and financially competitive manner while striving to the highest Health, Safety, Security, Environment (HSSE) standards. It embraces circular economy principles, and latest technologies. Chemical engineering plays a major role for the Producing Department to safely run its facilities and meet its oil and gas production targets. The engineer will work with all engineering disciplines to ensure, optimize, and enhance the oil & gas processing within the organization, including participating in technical chemical engineering reviews of the Producing Department’s current and future projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop continuous improvement operating and process solutions by collecting and analyzing operating information and data. Act as technical consultant on operational and process-related problems.
• Prepare and issue engineering-related documentations as required, such as procedures, reports, Operating Instruction Manuals (OIMs), technical presentations, Management of Change (MOCs).
• Initiate and develop innovations, technologies and procedures to optimize operations and operational costs.
• Initiate, review, and develop small and large projects required to maintain Maximum Sustainable Capacity.
• Work with other related organizations to design and implement modifications and new construction.
• Participate and contribute to comprehensive department management program to maintain and continually improve process performance, business management, and safety KPIs.
• Work with other company departments and third parties to support department objectives.
• Utilize knowledge and experience to prepare procedures for field execution to upgrade, repair, retrofit, replacement and repair of plant equipment and prepare Operating Instruction Manuals.
• Assist, train and mentor less experienced engineers, as required.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Must have a minimum of 10 years’ design and/or plant operations experience, preferably in the oil and gas business, such as Gas and Oil Separation Plants (GOSPs), or similar and relevant process industries.
• Must have chemical engineering discipline knowledge and field experience to support and maintain day-to-day reliable operations.
• Should have experience in the support of both small and large-scale capital projects.
• Must have experience with using MOC for plant changes, design review small and large projects, SAP system, e-review and other industry software.
• Must have knowledge and experience with process control, including the use of HYSYS and other process simulation software and hydraulic simulations, as well as practical experience with Process Hazard review and implementation programs such as HAZOP and MOC.
• Should have a thorough knowledge of engineering practices, economic principles, calculation methods, design and international codes, standards, specifications and industry EPC entities, such as API Standards.
