Our client is one of the foremost providers of laboratory and plant chemical safety equipment. They are dedicated to protecting people, property and the planet. Their portfolio of companies is always growing and as such, they’re looking for a candidate who has strong experience in HSE and is open to a career change.

About the role
The ideal Chemical Safety Specialist is a candidate who has worked either as a health and safety officer on an industrial chemical plant (and is looking for a career change) or someone who has been involved in preparing and delivering trainings on chemical safety. Responsibilities:
  • Be the go-to product expert on chemical safety equipment such as chemical showers, etc. (not PPE).
  • Carry out site visits and product training visits in collaboration with the sales team.
  • Contribute to growth strategies and objectives for the chemical safety product categories.
  • Work closely with the regional sales team to educate distributors and end-users on the company’s product range.
  • Work with the global marketing team to develop strategies to drive new product introduction.
  • Carry out market research and analyse industry trends to identify new business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain customer relationships.
  • Meet monthly, quarterly and annual sales objectives.

Requirements:
  • 5+ years in industrial chemical health and safety practices.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or a related field.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and complexity in Europe and the UK.
  • Experience providing safety training.
  • Strong relationship building skills.
  • Able and willing to travel 30% of the time.
