TRS Staffing Solutions has exciting opportunities for a Civil Designer role to work for one of Canada's top employers and a global leader in the Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management industry.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with departmental initiatives, process updates, and technical development efforts.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies, including safety, ethics, and sustainability standards.
- Support knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and a collaborative team culture.
- Produce accurate and timely design work in alignment with established quality expectations.
- Organize, plan, and prioritize work to meet project deadlines.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior design staff when required.
- Collaborate closely with other design and engineering disciplines to ensure coordinated project execution.
- Follow all applicable industry standards, codes, and internal procedures.
- Complete assignments according to approved project plans, schedules, and deliverable requirements.
- Perform additional tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- Two‑year technical diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience (10+ years).
- 2–5 years of experience supporting industrial, mining, or infrastructure design projects.
- Advanced skills in 2D/3D CAD platforms such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Smart 3D, or comparable tools.
- Proficiency with 3D civil/structural modeling applications.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teams and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of material selection, constructability considerations, and cost‑related factors.
- Familiarity with civil surveying fundamentals, including boundary and topographical surveys.
- Understanding of basic procurement and construction workflows related to engineering.
- Practical field experience is considered an asset.
