Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain precision equipment to reduce downtime.
- Review and interpret technical drawings and models.
- Set up, calibrate, and program CNC machine to execute specific manufacturing tasks.
- Make adjustments during operation to achieve desired tolerances (0.02mm).
- Inspect final machined product to ensure conformity by making use of measuring equipment like verniers and calipers.
- Remove and finally machine the newly installed labyrinths on various rotors.
- Machine rotor blade tips to specified dimensions.
- Burnish probe tracks.
- Machine and radial grinding of bearing journals.
- Axial grinding of thrust collars.
- Collaborating with engineers, managers, and fellow team members.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to Health & Safety rules and regulations.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements:
- Qualified Artisan - Trade Certificate (Red Seal).
- Technical training in the operation of large CNC Lathes, Horizontal and Vertical borers.
- Online programming of CNC controls, Fagor, Siemens, and Fanuc.
- Previous experience of machining large Turbine, Compressor, and Blower rotors exceeding 20tons (at least 10 years).
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in English to liaise effectively with the workshop, customers, suppliers/subcontractors, and management.
- Deadline driven.
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
