We are seeking a CONTRACTS & PROCUREMENT ADVISOR to support our client's major capital project. This position involves front-end supply chain activities, post-award support, and oversight of complex contract packages. You will work as an individual contributor in an owner-managed process, collaborating closely with internal teams and EPC partners.
Work Location: Remote work within BC or AB / Vancouver based - Monthly travel to Vancouver required for remote option
Employment Type: Independent Contractor
Contract Duration: 1 year term with possible extension
Hourly Rate: Commensurate with experience
Key Responsibilities
- Execute front-end supply chain activities and provide post-award support for major project scopes.
- Manage contract administration, supplier performance, and oversight of EPC packages.
- Lead pre-award activities, including RFx development, bid evaluations, and negotiations.
- Administer post-award activities, including change orders, claims resolution, and close-out.
- Ensure compliance with governance standards, ESG commitments, and project objectives.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for Stage-Gate requirements (knowledge preferred but not mandatory).
Qualifications
- Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in contract management and procurement within heavy industry (energy, mining, or EPC projects).
- Certification in supply chain or contract management required; field experience highly valued.
- Strong negotiation, risk management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Ariba preferred) and contract management tools.
- Familiarity with Stage-Gate processes is an asset.
- Intermediate to senior level; minimal coaching expected.
- Ability to travel to Vancouver monthly.
