Join our esteemed client and be part of this amazing team as a Commissioning Lead - Mining Projects, that’s not only shaping the future of energy and resources but also making a real impact on the world. This position is based in the Northern Cape, South Africa.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the commissioning process for mineral processing plants, ensuring alignment with project goals, timelines, and quality standards.
- Develop and implement Commissioning Management Plans, Execution Plans, and Strategy Outlines.
- Oversee pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup, and handover activities.
- Ensure process control systems (e.g., control logic, operating philosophies, system architecture) are correctly implemented and tested.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support during commissioning and startup.
- Manage cross-functional teams including engineering, construction, and operations personnel.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards, including Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) procedures.
- Promote a safety-first culture through commissioning activities.
Qualifications & Skills Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in mineral processing plant commissioning.
- Strong background in concentrator and iron ore processing plants.
- Experience in developing and executing commissioning plans.
- Familiarity with control systems and process plant automation.
- Legal appointment experience and strong safety focus.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management.
- Proficiency in commissioning software and documentation tools.
