Instrumentation & Control Technician | Commissioning

The South Flank Project is being executed by a fully Integrated Project Team (IPT), jointly established by BHP and Fluor, consisting of employees from both organisations as well as other contracting organisations as applicable. The project has an exciting opportunity for an Commissioning I&C Technician, to join the project team on site, on a 15:6 day roster.

Reporting to the I&C Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safe and reliable, calibration, testing and fault finding of bespoke I&C systems. You will be well supported and valued for your positive contributions to the team. Training is provided to ensure the safe and effective operations of this unique production facility.

You will be experienced in Instrumentation & Control Systems with a background in process plants such as petrochemical, oil and gas, mining, chemical plants or similar

Role Specific Responsibilities:

Undertake calibration, testing, fault finding and repair activities on bespoke process and instrumentation systems
Support continuous improvement processes
Ensure compliance with relevant safety management systems and company procedures & policies
Liaise with multi-disciplinary teams
Work in a highly regulated environment
Qualifications / Experience Required:

Tertiary Qualification in Instrumentation & Control or relevant discipline or equivalent industrial experience

Be able to review and understand applicable design drawings (P&IDs, Wiring schematics, general arrangement drawings, instrument data sheets etc.)
Able to work in a team environment or individually if required
Demonstrate good Management of Change practices
Demonstrated experience in a similar role
Knowledge of safe work practices and OHSE legislation
Exceptional communication skills both oral and written
Good problem solving and organisational skills
Experience in maintaining advanced I&C systems is considered favourably, operating from a controls system interface a plus
