In this role, you will be utilizing your expertise to ensure the Health and Safety of all workers onsite and be responsible for the coordination and communication of the safety program and safety initiatives between employees, supervision, and management teams.
The successful candidate will be someone with
• Minimum Certified Level 2 First Aid Attendant (OFA level 2)
• A strong understanding of safety code rules and regulations
• Preferably a technical understanding of the construction industry
• Effective communication and writing skills
• Certificate in traffic control (Flagging) is an asset
• Previous first aid experience in the construction industry is a strong asset
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs
Job Responsibilities
• Protects the Health & Safety of all workers onsite
• Provides First Aid as necessary
• Identifies Safety Objectives & Requirements
• Coordinates the Site Safety Program
• Runs Weekly Toolbox Meetings
• Participates in Monthly Safety Meetings
• Performs Accident & Incident Investigations
• Inspects the Workplace & Identify Safety Deficiencies
• Advises the Site Superintendent of Corrective Actions Identified
• Monitors WHMIS and keep SDS up to date
• Represents the company during WCB Inspections
• Completes and saves all required documentation to Project SharePoint Site
• Participates in the JOHS committee if required
