Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Contracts Manager to oversee the preparation, negotiation, and administration of construction contracts. This role is critical in ensuring that all contractual obligations are met, risks are mitigated, and projects are executed in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts, subcontracts, and related legal documents.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies.
- Collaborate with project managers, legal teams, and procurement to align contract terms with project goals.
- Monitor contract performance and manage contract modifications, claims, and disputes.
- Maintain accurate records of contract documents, correspondence, and change orders.
- Identify and mitigate contractual risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide guidance and training to project teams on contract management best practices.
- Support bid preparation and review contract terms during the tendering process.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Law, Engineering, or a related field (JD or MBA is a plus).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction contract management or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of construction law, contract types (e.g., lump sum, GMP, cost-plus), and industry standards (e.g., AIA, FIDIC).
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with large-scale commercial or infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Procore, Primavera, MS Project).
- Certification in Contract Management (e.g., NCMA, CCCM, CPCM) is a plus.
