The Construction Craft Superintendent is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all craft labor activities on construction projects. This role ensures work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage craft personnel, including foremen, skilled trades, and subcontractors
Plan and coordinate daily construction activities to meet project milestones
Ensure strict adherence to safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Monitor workforce productivity, manpower levels, and resource allocation
Review drawings, specifications, and work plans to ensure proper project execution
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other disciplines to resolve field issues
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with standards
Track progress and provide updates on schedule, risks, and performance
Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs
Support project planning, scheduling, and reporting processes
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (technical degree or certification preferred)
8–12+ years of construction experience across multiple crafts or disciplines
5+ years in a supervisory or superintendent role
Strong knowledge of construction methods, safety standards, and industry best practices
Proven leadership, communication, and team management skills
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience on large-scale industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects
Familiarity with scheduling software and construction management tools
OSHA certification or other relevant safety credentials
