Director, Quality Assurance NDT

Our client, a leading rail manufacturer, is hiring a Director, Quality Assurance NDT at their Dallas, TX headquarters. This is a direct hire opportunity offering competitive pay and bonus structure with a company that is rapidly growing!

SUMMARY:
The Director, Quality Assurance NDT will be responsible for ensuring client’s Non-Destructive Testing programs comply with industry regulatory requirements and that quality and compliance standards meet the needs of client’s product portfolio. In this role you will oversee the Non-Destructive Testing process at plants or shops to ensure adequate certified employee resources are in place to validate cars meet quality and compliance requirements for customers. The director will also be responsible for ensuring all development tasks meet quality criteria through test planning, test execution, quality audit, and issue tracking.

DUTIES:
• Act as a Non-Destructive Level III program owner.
• Provide expertise knowledge and support over Non-Destructive Testing methods and techniques.
• Manage technical training and technical evaluations to candidate or certified Non-Destructive Testing employees at all facilities.
• Understand research and recommend advanced Non-Destructive Testing equipment, training methods and advancing technology.
• Attend appropriate industry related professional society meetings and functions in order to remain informed of and make good use of new technology, products and personal development opportunities.

REQUIRMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Operations, Manufacturing Engineering or other related field
• 10+ years relevant experience leading quality function and/or quality related responsibilities in large manufacturing operations
• Proven experience leading team as well as leading/participating in cross-functional initiatives
• ASNT-TC-1A Certifications as follows (more than one preferred):
o Level III Ultrasonic Test Method (UT) - REQUIRED
o Level III Visual Test Method (VT) and/or Sr. CWI - REQUIRED
o Level III Liquid Penetrant Test Method (PT) - preferred
o Level III Radiography Test Method (RT) - preferred
o Level III Leak Testing (LT) - preferred
• Experience and knowledge of American Association of Railroads (AAR) Manufacturing Standards & Recommended Practices (MSRP’s)
• Quality assurance experience across extensive product portfolios, preferably in rail car manufacturing & maintenance operations
• Experience with US/MX manufacturing operations preferred – Bilingual preferred
• Must be able to demonstrate good interpersonal skills; ability to work with others efficiently and effectively
