Division Head - Electrical & Instrumentation

We are seeking a seasoned and visionary Department Head - Electrical & Instrumentation to lead our technical operations within the shipbuilding division. This pivotal role is responsible for overseeing the design, installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems across a diverse portfolio of marine vessels, ensuring compliance with international standards and client specifications.

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in shipbuilding, with a deep understanding of marine electrical systems, automation, and instrumentation technologies. You will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians, driving innovation, operational excellence, and safety across all phases of ship construction and commissioning.

This is a permanent position and the role will be based in Saudi Arabia. 

Duties & responsibilities:
Manage the Electrical and Instrumentation Outfitting Discipline Engineers for the division.
Assist the department manager in development and implementation of process and procedures and ERM/CAD system implementation in the engineering.
Preparation of Detail Drawings of each discipline for Client/Classification Societies’ approval such as single line diagram, electric load analysis, instrument type and range, cable arrangement of whole ship, cable sizing and routing based on international standards, etc based on both Contract Specification and Basic Drawings.
Preparation of Production Drawings of each discipline for smooth progress of production such as cabling, installation and assemble drawings and so on.
Update drawings according to result of feedback with each party of Clients, Classification Societies, Operation/Commissioning team, Vendors, and sub-contractors.
Support projects and production ensuring that detail/productions design deliverables are provided in a timely manner.
Attend/Manage the major commissioning, test, and trial.

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or Instrumentation Engineering.
• Preferred – Any additional certification / courses in electrical & instrumentation design engineering, project management.
• 9 - 15 years’ experience within Accommodation division of engineering department of Shipbuilding or offshore support vessels building industry
• related to Accommodation outfitting, HVAC, and Piping engineering field.
