Division Order Analyst Position Description
Seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Division Order Analyst to join our team. The Division Order Analyst will be responsible for processing incoming division orders, managing and maintaining records of net revenue interest for incoming revenue, and ensuring accurate distribution of incoming royalties for various firm entities. The role requires a thorough understanding of division orders, calculation of mineral and royalty interests, and oil and gas accounting principles. A qualifying candidate must be able to work independently, though with ample support and mentorship, as needed, from other members of the land team.

Primary Responsibilities 
  • Review and process incoming division orders from operators and purchasers
  • Calculate and verify complex divisions of interest from source records
  • Analyze and interpret title opinions, mineral ownership reports, conveyances, assignments, leases, operating agreements, pooling and unitization agreements, and other title documents and oil & gas agreements to verify interests and update land records
  • Assist the Land team in interpretation of leases in connection with division orders to determine if leases are held by production or if the lease has terminated
  • Investigate and resolve issues related to division orders, ownership disputes, and payment discrepancies. Be a strong advocate of company interests to ensure proper royalty payments.
  • Build a rapport with remitters of revenue and maintain effective communications to quickly reconcile interest discrepancies or assets held in suspense and ensure correct, timely revenue payments in accordance with the leases on company interests
  • Maintain and update ownership records in the company land management systems. Work closely with other members of land team to maintain data integrity.
  • Assist in resolving accounting issues as needed
  • Maintain mineral, lease, division order, and well records (physical folders, digital folders, BOLO software and company database) 

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree 
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in division order analysis
  • Strong understanding of oil and gas industry practices, including mineral and royalty interests, land title, and division order processes
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook & Power Point
  • Experience with P2’s BOLO software 
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Able to draft business letters and emails to effectively communicate oil and gas title issues and accounting / interest calculation issues
