Electrical Estimator

TRS Staffing Solutions has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Estimator to work for our client’s team. Our client is a well‑established engineering services provider that supports several large-scale industrial and commercial projects. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong technical depth, and enjoys contributing to competitive, high-quality proposals.

Responsibilities:

• Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, and tender documents for medium‑ and high‑voltage electrical systems.
• Develop full-scope electrical estimates including labour, materials, equipment, vendor pricing, and subcontractor contributions.
• Prepare formal proposal packages for internal evaluation and client submission.
• Assess subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure accuracy, alignment with scope, and competitive pricing.
• Maintain organized cost data, estimating records, and vendor pricing histories.
• Identify potential value‑engineering opportunities to enhance cost competitiveness.
• Manage scope adjustments, clarifications, and updates throughout the tendering cycle.
• Conduct or participate in occasional site walk‑downs to verify project conditions.
• Support RFIs, prequalification packages, and participate in bid review and close‑out meetings.
• Perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications:
 

• Minimum 5 years of electrical estimating experience within heavy industrial sectors.
• Strong familiarity with medium- and high-voltage systems.
• Experience in engineering consulting, EPC environments, industrial construction, or manufacturing organizations.
• Post Secondary education in electrical engineering or electrical trades.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian electrical regulations and best practices.
• Proficiency with estimating system platforms is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work independently.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
