Engineering Manager

For one of our clients in the Oil, Gas and Chemical sector we are currently looking for a Engineering Manager.

General job description and responsibilities’

• Reports to Section Head Project Execution
• Seven direct reports, discipline engineers for piping, CSA, Mechanical, E&I
• Keeps the engineering specifications up-to-date with the discipline engineers and head drawing office
• Reviews project and engineering schedules with the project manager and Discipline Engineers
• Makes manpower forecasts per discipline with the project managers for the several projects within the capital program
• Monitors engineering actual cost versus forecast for the discipline engineers
• Balances the workload within the engineering team and recruit additional discipline engineers when needed
• manages the discipline engineers within Project Execution Department
• Monitors quality and progress of the discipline engineers
• Review of RFQ's and Quotations to and from Engineering companies for feasibility studies, FEED and Detailed Engineering
• Monitors the quality and progress of the engineering contractors work
• Executes Feasibility studies, FEED and Detailed Engineering work according the clients procedures, specifications and standards
• Solving of technical issues
• Responsible for accurate project documentation including reviews, approvals and filing
• Responsibility to report to Senior Management on a regular basis
• Project close out (financial and documentation)

Requirements

• BSc / MSc Mechanical Engineering or equal
• Minimum 10-15 years of experience in relevant industries
• Engineering management experience of projects with a head size of 0.1 - 100 Mio Euro
• Capability to manage international internal and contractor's engineering teams
• Dutch and English language capabilities as a minimum
• Preferably experience in an owner's environment or Engineering contractor's environment
• Strong drive to deliver the high quality projects and within schedule
• Flexibility and willingness to travel including assignment in contractor’s office
