Estimator

TRS is seeking an Estimator in Odessa, TX for an oil and gas company. This is a direct hire opportunity. 

Duties:

• Preparation of Engineering Procurement & Construction (EPC) estimates
• Prepares work to be estimated by gathering, evaluating and interpreting proposals, blueprints, specifications, historical data and related documents;
• Identifies labor, material and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications and, and related documents;
• Computes costs by analyzing labor, material and time requirements;
• Resolves discrepancies by collecting, examining, and analyzing information
• Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information;
• Requisition Material Quotes
• Complete Bid Package incorporating feedback and learnings from previous bids and projects
• Compile and distribute initial job information upon job award
• Complete project budgets
• Complete initial project change orders (bid drawing to project award drawings)
• Under general supervision, provide support to a broad range of marketing and sales groups using some independent judgment and discretion based on knowledge of company products and services.
• Interface directly with customers and contract pricing negotiations.
• Assist in the resolution of various issues arising from audits undertaken by customers
• Determine accurate bills of material for proposed projects
• Participate in improvement efforts for estimating accuracy and process efficiency
• Interact with vendors and suppliers to understand their products and pricing structures
• Assist with purchasing
• Validate estimates to ensure scope and execution plan are accurately reflected in the project estimate

Skills/Qualifications:

Technical:

• Excellent Software Skills including, excel, project, access, word and ability to learn more advanced estimating software such
• Excellent Communications, Interpersonal and Customer Relations Skills
• Knowledge and interpretation of algorithms, complex mathematical modeling experience and equations.
• Understanding of structural materials
• Ability to work cooperatively with various company divisions and clients
• Detailed oriented and problem solving skills
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Ability to work well within a team-oriented environment
• Must have the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, Construction Management, or other related field; or equivalent education/experience
• Experience with providing estimates on large capital projects
