Field Buyer, Future Opportunities

The Opportunity
Our client, a world leading EPCM is currently seeking talented and highly motivated Field Buyers for a positions based throughout Alberta and British Columbia. This is a great opportunity to further your career with a prominent global organization.
Responsibilities
• Work with the joint venture project management and construction team in determining needs and assist in procuring items for the project.
• Highly analytical, with the ability to ensure detail, clarity and completeness in materials, quantity & quality, logistics, timelines and proper documentation.
• Solid understanding of commodity and supplier management; research and investigate domestic and international market conditions, analysis, delivery/ logistics, and availability
• Demonstrated negotiation skills over best price, delivery, terms of payment and purchase orders; term & conditions, tax exemptions, price escalation and other factors affecting cost.
• Maintain reports and files to ensure accuracy, security and confidentiality.
• Utilize proper close out procedures ensuring successful completion following contractual and process requirements.
Qualifications
• Degree / Diploma in related field
• Thorough understanding of buying/procurement in an EPC/ EPCM environment
• Strong attention to detail, critical thinking and innovative problem solving skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
