They just finished building the mine and this role would be responsible in running the operations side of things.
This is a strategic site based senior leadership role and this candidate must have strong background in mine operations, boots on the ground, and solid community relations and cultural involvement within their mining premises and nearby areas.
· Managing day-to-day mining operations (Mine, Mill, Maintenance, Technical, HR, HSE, Security)
· Formation and management of the operational team
· Superlative communication skills and ability to coordinate and direct staff towards achieving overall corporate objectives
· Focus on achieving key production metrics
· Demonstrate strong budget and fiscal management
· Ability to pursue innovative methods that create value added financial benefits
· Understand and demonstrate strength in maintaining and developing Community Relations
· Excellence in full stakeholder relations (operational staff; corporate Toronto office; shareholders)
· Ability to work in a high pressure environment while maintaining crucial timelines and production levels
· Leadership skills that create a cohesive and driven work environment
Pre-selected candidates must satisfy the following Key Requirements:
· Relevant educational background: Bachelor's degree in any related background from a recognized institution.
· Solid experience managing remote mining operations especially in Mexico.
· This person needs to know the social issues in Mexico and how business is conducted down there.
· It’s very important for someone to know the community, the politics and culture, social and economic challenges, someone who has involvement with environmental committees, unions, governments, ejidos, etc.
· Someone who has the cultural background and understanding of mine operations are must haves.
· Candidates must be bilingual in Spanish and English language. They need to be able to effectively communicate with the board and be able to explain technical aspects of the project to the senior management team in Canada and communicate with everyone on site.
