Skills and requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Extensive experience in Mechanical Engineering, preferably in a major LNG Project. Broad knowledge of engineering execution, including design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, onshore LNG facilities and utility systems design, construction and operations.
- Demonstrated broad static mechanical equipment and systems experience.
- Proficient in English language.
- Strong organisational, planning and coordination skills.
- Strong technical, prioritisation and management skills.
- Strong communication and team working skills.
- Good communication, influencing and interface skills.
- Proficient in MS Office.
Qatar
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring execution of work is technically aligned and in compliance with Qatargas Operations, Policies, Standards of Business Conduct and Qatargas Project Management System (QGPMS).
- Leading mechanical engineering design and planning activities, for Packages, ensuring FEED contractor develops detailed design in accordance with local regulatory requirements, industry standards, project specifications and any approved variations.
- Resolving mechanical discipline issues to ensure engineering design addresses NFW Project's expectations and objectives.
- Reviewing technical aspects of Mechanical Packages purchase orders with FEED Contractor and vendors in accordance with the roles and responsibilities stated in applicable contract(s) to ensure safe and seamless integration of new mechanical equipment into the existing operating facilities (when applicable).
- Assessing plans and work schedules to ensure effective completion of project activities and providing data (narrative, charts, graphs), change management recommendations and recovery plans to address any schedule delays.
- Developing, updating and amending design / project philosophies, specifications and procedures, ensuring that all references to Mechanical Engineering are current and relevant.
- Monitoring and providing guidance to FEED Contractor to ensure key deliverables, progress/milestones are met. Recommending additional technical support where necessary to address gaps.
- Coordinating and analysing issues for resolution. Providing mechanical engineering input to other engineering disciplines, construction, procurement etc, as necessary.
- Planning and scheduling Package Mechanical Engineering deliverables to enable efficient execution in meeting project milestones/schedule.
- Contributing to Safety analysis studies and providing the required input to support project management in key decisions making. Participating in sharing lessons learned, together with capturing current lessons learned to benefit future projects.
