Heavy Civil Superintendent

Here is a great opportunity to work on a variety of projects across Canada as a Heavy Civil Superintendent! You would be at work within a global leading contractor and joining a team of talented professionals.

In this very exciting role, the qualified candidate will support different projects that vary in size and locations across Canada by directing field construction activities and personnel to insure that the assigned areas of responsibility meet project budget, schedule and safety objectives. Some duties include being in frequent contact with clients, support staff and union representatives, as well being responsible for multiple areas including: Health and Safety, Planning & Scheduling, Procurement, Construction, Quality Control, and Documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Daily “Tool Box Meetings” with the assistance of Worker Site Safety Representatives to ensure all job specific safety hazards are identified, outlined and mitigated
- Analyze and understand project schedules prepared by project management
- Outline all required equipment, labour, and material a minimum of 1 week in advance
- Review and analyze all contract drawings and specifications
- Ensure all work performed on site meets quality standards set out by contract documents
- Assist in preparing Daily Work Records (DWR) for each day

Qualifications:
- 5+ years of previous experience as a superintendent in heavy civil construction
- Knowledge and experience with MTO, AB Transportation and BC Infrastructure
- Must have valid Driver’s license with a clean record
- Red/Gold Seal Certification considered an asset
- Experience with structures is preferred
