Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive HSE plans (Project HSE Plan, O&M Phase Plan, Environmental & Waste Management Plans).
Act as the primary HSE liaison with clients, regulators (Local Authority, Garda Síochána, Environmental Agency), and JV partners.
Lead site audits, inspections, and incident investigations, ensuring timely resolution and continuous improvement.
Coordinate and deliver HSE training, behavioural safety programs, and lessons learned sessions.
Monitor and report on HSE KPIs, ensuring visibility and accountability across all levels.
Maintain emergency preparedness, first-aid coverage, and safe systems of work.
Support tender processes and client meetings with HSE expertise and positive engagement.
Promote innovation, ownership, and integrity in all aspects of HSE management.
Ensure all documentation, risk assessments, and procedures are up-to-date, accessible, and communicated effectively.
Provide leadership and mentorship to the HSE team and site supervisors.
Required Qualifications
NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum)
Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH)
Lead Auditor certification (preferred)
First Aid and Manual Handling certification
Mental Health First Aider (preferred)
Valid industry-recognized safety card
Evidence of CPD and behavioural coaching
Skills & Experience
Minimum 5 years in HSE leadership within industrial or power plant environments
Strong understanding of mechanical/electrical systems and ATEX zone safety
Expertise in LOTO, permit-to-work systems, and intrinsically safe methodologies
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Proven ability to influence culture and drive behavioural change
Experience in incident prevention, investigation, and reporting
