TRS Staffing Solutions has exciting opportunities for HSE Technical Specialist role to work for one of Canada's top employers and a global leader in the Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management industry.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the office Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) program.
- Lead regular safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.
- Deliver HSE training sessions and safety communications to employees.
- Manage emergency response plans and ensure readiness across the office.
- Chair the HSE committee and ensure follow‑up on action items.
- Conduct ergonomic assessments and recommend corrective measures.
- Prepare and distribute HSE topics, safety alerts, and awareness materials.
- Monitor updates to HSE regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
- Promote a strong and proactive safety culture through engagement and leadership.
- Develop HSE procedures for office operations and project teams.
- Participate in value‑improvement and risk‑management workshops.
- Track HSE performance, analyze trends, and recommend improvements.
Requirements:
- Strong strategic thinking, problem‑solving abilities, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage relationships and lead HSE initiatives across teams.
- Technical knowledge of HSE principles, risk management, and construction methodology.
- Practical experience in construction environments with knowledge of design and industry standards.
- University degree or college diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field, and six years of relevant experience; or a combination of education and experience totaling ten years.
- Professional HSE certification (e.g., CSP, NRSP, or equivalent).
- Proven experience in health and safety within EPCM environment.
