An opportunity to work for one of the world’s leading offshore wind developers, on one of their newest offshore wind projects in the North Sea.
The right candidate will speak be an experienced HV Commissioning Engineer, have the right to work in the EU and have a minimum of 5 years in offshore wind projects.
Brief Description
This job involves performing switching operations (66 kV – 155 kV) at offshore substations, export cables, and wind turbines in line with HV Safety Rules.
The major responsibilities are:
- Assist site representatives and commissioning engineers in delivering commissioning activities and meeting project timelines.
- Perform HV switching operations (66–155 kV), manage Permit to Work system, and troubleshoot offshore HV equipment.
- Witness and sign off commissioning stages, ensure accurate “As Built” drawings and records, and prepare switching plans.
- Provide weekly progress reports, investigate incidents, and liaise with engineering and quality teams to resolve outstanding issues.
- Work closely with OSS, WTG, and IAC teams, supporting commissioning managers and ensuring smooth offshore and onshore operations.
Qualifications
- Electrical engineering degree or equivalent; certified (or eligible) as VDE 0105-100 Switching Operator.
- GWO Basic Safety, Enhanced First Aid, HUET, and offshore medical fitness.
- Proven experience in MV/HV electrical commissioning; knowledge of LV/MV/HV switchgear and SCADA integration.
- Familiarity with Siemens/GE protection relays, IEC61850/Goose communications; BMS systems experience desirable.
- Strong understanding of HV Safety Rules and ability to perform testing and troubleshooting on MV/HV assets.
