Geotechnical Engineer (Intermediate to Senior)
Location: Vancouver Island, BC - Duncan / Victoria / Campbell River / Nanaimo / Courtenay (Comox Valley)
About the Opportunity
A well-established, employee-owned multidisciplinary consulting firm with a long-standing presence in Western Canada is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join its growing Vancouver Island team. With a collaborative culture and a strong network of technical professionals across the region, this is an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and expanding geotechnical practice.
This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who enjoys working in a smaller office setting while being supported by a broader technical team. You will play a key role in delivering projects, supporting business development efforts, and helping expand regional geotechnical services.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver geotechnical solutions for civil infrastructure projects, including:
- Transportation (roads, rail)
- Underground utilities
- Water and wastewater systems
- Slope stability and foundations
- Buildings and marine structures
- Plan, lead, and interpret geotechnical investigations and studies
- Prepare technical reports and documentation
- Develop fee estimates and proposals
- Manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets
- Support client development and maintain strong professional relationships
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff
- Contribute to the growth and technical strength of the geotechnical team
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Geotechnical, Geological, or Civil Engineering (geotechnical focus)
- 5–20 years of progressive geotechnical experience
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in British Columbia (or eligibility)
- Strong knowledge of geotechnical design for infrastructure projects
- Demonstrated project management experience (budgeting, scheduling, delivery)
- Proven ability to support business development and client relationships
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
