Job Duties:
- Lead instrumentation scope development based on P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and equipment datasheets.
- Design and review control documentation, including loop narratives, alarm/trip setpoints, and cause & effect matrices.
- Perform sizing and selection calculations for control valves, flow meters, pressure safety valves, and other field instruments.
- Specify and procure instrumentation and analyzers, ensuring compatibility with process requirements and project standards.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation, including instrument index, datasheets, I/O lists, and hook-up drawings.
- Support fabrication and testing, providing technical guidance during assembly and participating in FAT procedures.
- Ensure compliance with codes and standards, such as AER, IEC, CSA, ATEX, ISA, ASME, API, SIL, and SIS.
- Minimum 5 years of instrumentation engineering experience, preferably within a mid-sized fabrication environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical education from NAIT or SAIT.
- Professional registration with a Canadian engineering association; APEGA membership strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of instrumentation systems, control principles, and industrial communication protocols.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Excel; ability to produce wiring and control loop diagrams is an asset.
- Excellent time and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
