Lead Construction Estimator

Our client is looking to recruit a Lead Construction Estimator (staff).

The company is constantly investing in the production of clean hydrogen fuel for the mobility sector to decarbonize heavy-duty vehicles. They are the global leader in creating technology solutions for capturing CO₂ from fossil fuel conversion before it reaches the atmosphere. Their core competency is an ability to develop, execute, own, and operate some of the world’s largest and most complex industrial gas (hydrogen) projects.

Context of the role:
The Project Execution team is accountable for driving competitive execution strategies through leading and managing the design, build, commissioning and successful handover of Air Separation Process Plants to worldwide customers. In achieving this, high safety performance is taken as a given.

To support a growing project portfolio, we’d like to hear from suitably qualified Construction Cost Estimators looking to enhance their skills within a high performing team. As a successful candidate, you will ensure that competitive cost estimates are achieved during the bid phase of a project, and that ongoing forecasting is maintained to allow correct decisions to be made during execution.

This is an office-based role, with an expectation that you will also spend periods on construction sites within the EMEA region, and the Contractor home office.

As our Lead Construction Estimator, you will:
- Support the estimating group to generate Cost Estimates to the required class. This will cover all aspects of Construction activities, including Civils, Mechanical and E&I
- Supporting Procurement Contracting in developing and writing winning bidding and contracting strategies in support of the estimate development
- Ensuring accurate conversion of cost estimates to budgets
- Supporting Project and Design strategies related to the Construction by developing cost details for alternative strategies
- Acting in the dual role of Quantity Surveyor as and when required
- Contractor Engagement and Management


Requested profile:
- Relevant Engineering Degree underpinned with experience in construction / construction estimating / QS preferred, additional on the job training will be given.
- A Team Player with good coordination, presentation and report writing skills
- Good command of the English language (verbal and written)
- Results oriented. Must be able to understand impact of decisions / changes on construction costs
- Works autonomously, reliably communicating upwards when appropriate.
- Air separation / industrial gas plant construction experience will be highly regarded
- Already eligible (EU Passport or valid Work-Permit) to work in The Netherlands (Randstad Area)
