TRS Staffing Solutions has exciting opportunities for a Lead Estimator role to work for one of Canada's top employers and a global leader in the Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management industry.
Job Description:
- Develop estimate plans and coordinate estimate development activities with the project team, including preparation of estimate schedules
- Prepare and develop direct, indirect, and services cost estimates with minimal supervision
- Utilize appropriate estimating methods and collaborate with project professionals to establish total project costs
- Perform peer reviews of estimates when required and support continuous improvement of estimating practices
- Provide guidance and general supervision to estimating personnel on larger projects
- Apply and refine conceptual estimating techniques and support knowledge sharing within the team
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and support project execution requirements
Job Requirements:
- Accredited four (4) year degree or equivalent in a related field with ten (10) years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience
- Strong knowledge of estimating principles, cost structures, and project execution practices
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, clients, and project teams
- Knowledge of applicable regulations, standards, and industry practices
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work in a time-conscious and efficient manner
- Ability to learn and apply new estimating tools, techniques, and processes
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting mining, metals, or large industrial projects
- Experience with industry-recognized estimating systems or tools
- Field experience in project controls, construction, contracts, or estimating
- Familiarity with different contract types (e.g., lump sum or reimbursable) and execution approaches
- Strong analytical and computer skills with the ability to lead estimate development efforts
