They are seeking a seasoned and visionary Lead Mason to join their operations team based in the Middle East and play a pivotal role in delivering critical construction and maintenance activities across complex industrial sites. This position requires a highly experienced individual who can lead masonry works with precision, discipline, and exceptional technical judgement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret drawings, specs and method statements; confirm scope, tolerances and interfaces (openings, lintels, control joints, ties/anchors).
- Lead a crew of masons and labourers; set tasks, pace, and production goals (m²/day), and monitor progress against targets. (Benchmarking aligns with general industry lead mason duties.)
- Ensure scaffold platforms are suitable for the task (load class, access/egress, edge protection) and request adjustments through the Access team per site process.
- Support mock‑ups/samples for client approval; maintain ITPs, hold points and handover documentation aligned to the client’s quality systems/LEAN mindset.
- Coordinate with Access/Scaffold for safe platforms and with Surface Protection/PFP teams for compatible sequences and curing/overcoating windows.
- Report incidents/near misses promptly and participate in corrective actions.
- Manage call‑offs, delivery checks and onsite storage to prevent damage/contamination, track consumption vs. budget.
- Provide clear daily progress updates to the Site/Area Foreman and interface with client representatives as required. (Lead-worker communication and reporting align with typical lead mason expectations.)
Qualifications and Skills Requirements:
- Recognised Masonry/Bricklaying qualification (or demonstrable equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 4–6+ years masonry experience, including 2+ years leading crews (industrial, heavy commercial or infrastructure works preferred). (Experience bands align to common lead mason role patterns.)
- Worked in Pelletizing plant handled areas like Annular cooler (AC), Rotary kiln (RK), Travelling grate (TG), Cylones. Good knowledge of Refractory.
- Ability to perform physically demanding masonry tasks including lifting, bending, climbing and standing for long periods in industrial environments.
