We are seeking a Lead Project Engineer to support the delivery of a large-scale mining process plant project. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a high-profile development, working across engineering, construction, and site execution phases within a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This role is located in Johannesburg.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support the execution of engineering and construction activities for the process plant.
- Coordinate across multidisciplinary teams including engineering, procurement, and construction.
- Monitor project progress, schedules, and key deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Liaise with contractors, consultants, and client stakeholders.
- Identify risks and support the implementation of practical solutions.
- Assist with project reporting, planning, and cost control.
Qualifications And Skills Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related).
- 10 years’ experience in mining and minerals processing plant projects.
- Proven experience on processing plant projects (crushing, milling, flotation, or hydromet).
- Strong understanding of EPC/EPCM environments.
- Experience working on site-based project delivery.
- Strong project coordination and stakeholder management capability.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, multicultural environments.
- High attention to detail with a proactive, delivery-focused mindset.
Additional Information:
- Must be passport-ready and available for international mobilization.
- Project-dependent contract role aligned to project timelines.
- Rotation cycle to be confirmed.
