LOCATION: PORT SHEPSTONE, KWAZULU-NATAL
DURATION: PERMANENT
SALARY: MARKET RELATED (NEGOTIABLE ON EXPERIENCE)

“TRS has an opportunity for a Maintenance Foreman for our Client who has a long history in mining and processing carbonates, lime, magnetite and other industrial minerals at its Carbonates Operation in PORT SHEPSTONE, KWAZULU-NATAL."

 

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
 
- The management of the key performance areas of subordinates
- Optimize capability and availability of allocated company assets.
- Management of related engineering work within the applicable industry engineering standards and practices.
- Compliance to the Mine Health and Safety Act, maintain a zero harm workplace through actively enforcing adherence to the companies COPS, policies, procedures and associated safety standards.
- Effective management of shutdown planning and execution of tasks, enforce the planned maintenance cycle of work.
- Compiling and managing the annual sectional budget.
- Investigate failures and reduce breakdowns while maintaining a 90% plant reliability.
- Perform standby duties and also provide ad hoc after hours support as and when required by the operation.
- Investigate and address plant improvement opportunities.

 

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS:

 

- Matric with related Mechanical Trade test (N3), with a minimum of 5 years' experience as an appointed artisan in heavy engineering industry, preferably mining.
- Sound knowledge of fitting, machining, rigging and boiler making practices.
- Leadership experience and qualifications are advantageous.
- Experience in the following equipment is essential, conveyors, pumps, bucket elevators, fans, feeders and gearboxes.
- Previous CMMS system knowledge and experience will be beneficial.
- Leadership ability in order to motivate and maintain a team spirit.
- Must be able to use a computer and ability to work with excel, word and outlook, experience on JOE will be an added advantage
- Ability to communicate fluently in English i.e. read, write and speak.
- Valid driver's licence.
