Location: Hodges, SC
Industry: food grade manufacturing
Status of Hire: full-time, direct hire, salaried plus bonus
Compensation: $120-150k (depending on experience) plus annual performance-based bonus
Reports to: Plant Manager

Summary:
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the planning, coordinating, and oversite of the maintenance and technical activities. They are responsible for planning projects and overseeing the efficient running of projects, including providing supervision and guidance to other maintenance personnel. This person drives manufacturing excellence, developing a culture in our plants of high performance and continuous improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Foster a culture of continuous improvement to maintain the plants’ operational and financial competitiveness
Establishes expert knowledge and technical expertise in running and troubleshooting powder technologies, box-drying, spray-drying, and the palatability processes
Define and simulate process flow diagrams and write standard operating procedures
Trains Operations personnel in the correct application techniques for new technologies
Supports all related areas in the development and implementing new business and maintaining the quality for existing business
Utilizes box/spray dry experience to expand and optimize product portfolio
Works directly with internal and external customers in product development, troubleshooting and finding technical solutions for box/spray drying
Works closely with global process engineering partners
Occasional domestic travel to other production facilities in North America or to the facilities of equipment manufacturers or customers may be required
Drive superior performance by gathering, analyzing, and sharing key operational data
Ensure a culture with a strong commitment to safety
Delegate any maintenance issues to be resolved on each shift and small projects to the right skills in the team, planning and managing effective works
Develop and manage a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule that ensures full preventative maintenance is carried out, plan in missed maintenance activities, and lead the team to deliver effectively
Supervise the process of disposal of obsolete machinery, plant equipment from gaining agreement to write off to physically removing it safely and with lawful disposal
Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department
Schedule both internal and external work maximizing planned down time and reducing unplanned downtime
Prepare and manage the annual maintenance budget, forecast all capital expenditure proposals as well as ensuring compliance with legal standards
Experience/Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial management, production operations management or equivalent field of study preferred
Minimum of five (5) years’ maintenance management and manufacturing management experience in a food-grade, cGMP and/or FDA regulated environment preferred
History of strong leadership skills in technically demanding, multi-faceted projects in a local and international environment requiring autonomy, strength of proposal, sense of responsibility, and team spirit
Excellent math abilities and working knowledge of data analysis/statistical methods
Strong communication and presentation skills for a variety of audiences
Food Safety Quality training and/or certification is a strong advantage
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)

**Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check to be eligible for hire
**This is a full-time, direct hire, on-premise/on-site position requiring the ability to reliably commute to the plant or relocate to the area
