Industrial Maintenance Mechanic (Millwright) – Manufacturing | Unionized

Our client is a global, family-oriented manufacturing organization known for producing everyday food and beverage packaging products. With a workforce of over 10,000 employees and operations across multiple countries, the company has a long-standing reputation for quality, safety, and innovation.

They are currently seeking a Maintenance Mechanic (Licensed Industrial Millwright) to join their Scarborough facility and support reliable, high-performing production operations.

Location

Scarborough, ON

Compensation

• Starting Rate: $39.41/hour (fixed, non-negotiable)

Shift

• 8-hour / COP schedule
• All shifts required (days, afternoons, nights)
• Shift assignment based on union seniority and operational needs

About the Role

Behind every reliable production line is a strong maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring equipment operates safely, efficiently, and at peak performance within a fast-paced, unionized manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair manufacturing equipment using blueprints, manuals, and schematics
• Diagnose mechanical issues through visual, auditory, and operational inspection
• Dismantle, repair, and reassemble machinery components
• Maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, and piping systems
• Perform preventative maintenance and support production changeovers
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using ERP systems
• Collaborate with maintenance, production, and plant leadership teams
• Follow all safety, GMP, food safety, and quality standards

Qualifications

• Valid Ontario Industrial Millwright License (433A)
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints
• 2–3 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic (preferred)
• Strong working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems
• Ability to pass a technical/mechanical aptitude test
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to meet physical demands (lifting, climbing, standing, varying temperatures)
