Key Responsibilities
- Manage assigned projects from concept through completion, ensuring compliance with scope, budget, and schedule.
- Translate customer requirements into practical, cost-effective design solutions.
- Perform engineering calculations and analysis to validate design integrity and functionality.
- Ensure designs meet standards for manufacturability, serviceability, and cost efficiency.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Provide engineering support throughout the product lifecycle, including manufacturing and field support.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for product design and cost reduction.
- Supervise and mentor designers and technologists, reviewing and approving designs and calculations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales and manufacturing, to support project objectives.
- Execute additional tasks as required to meet organizational goals.
- Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in equipment design and manufacturing within the oil & gas industry.
- Eligible for registration with APEGA.
- Proficient in SolidWorks and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, GD&T, and structural integrity analysis (FEA preferred).
- Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.Our client is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their engineering team in Calgary. This role is responsible for the design and development of equipment and products, including creating 3D CAD models and detailed drawings for manufacturing. The successful candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record in delivering high-quality designs within project timelines.
