This position operates under detailed instructions and reviews to provide essential technical expertise and perform the specified tasks. The role is crucial for enhancing our client’s competitiveness in the global market by delivering high-quality services that offer unmatched value and technical proficiency. The primary focus of this position is to engage in design work and create 3D layouts for complex projects, potentially serving as the Design Area Lead.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of Industrial/Mining Projects: Familiarity with engineering related to Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), dust control, and fire protection.
- Understanding of Codes and Standards: Knowledge of industrial codes and standards (ASHRAE, ACGIH, OSHA, MSHA, NFPA) relevant to HVAC, industrial ventilation, and fire protection.
- Proficiency in Software Tools: Skilled in using 2D and 3D software applications (AutoCAD, MicroStation, Smartplant 3D, or equivalent/Revit).
- 3D Modeling Expertise: Ability to perform complex 3D modeling for HVAC and dust control equipment and ducting design.
- Experience with CAD Standards: Knowledge of applying project CAD standards for creating 2D drawings, including airflow diagrams and system schematics, as well as 2D drawings derived from 3D models.
- Reviewing Design Drawings: Experience in evaluating contractors’ and equipment vendors’ design documents for compliance with project specifications and requirements.
- Fire Protection Design Experience: Detail design experience with fire sprinkler and fire standpipe systems is a plus.
Basic Job Requirements:
- An accredited two-year degree or equivalent in a technical field, or a combination of education and directly related experience totaling fifteen years; some locations may have additional or different qualifications to meet local requirements.
- Effective communication skills for engaging with management, colleagues, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
- Technical knowledge relevant to the job responsibilities.
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national regulations and guidelines.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently within time constraints.
- Understanding of the commercial availability and cost of materials.
- Practical field experience.
- Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in word processing, email, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
