Location: Dixon, IL
Industry: Manufacturing (mechanical assembly)
Status of Hire: direct placement; permanent
Pay: $65k-$75k + bonus potential
Summary: The 2nd Shift Operations Supervisor directs, and coordinates activities of workers engaged in production, maintenance, and material handling.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervises and coordinates activities of production workers
- Interprets company policies and collective bargaining agreement
- Demonstrated commitment and enforcement of safe work practices
- Maintains time and production reports
- Coordinates with maintenance and other departments in the company
- Establishes or adjusts work procedure to meet production schedules
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
- Suggests changes in work conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, and crew
- Minimum of a High School Diploma is required. Associates or better in Business Administration or a related field is preferred.
- 3-5 years’ experience in production supervision is desirable in a metal forming, manufacturing, or assembly background.
- Strong leadership skills
- Deals effectively with multiple internal/external customers of varying levels
- Demonstrated proficiency in communication, self-presentation and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively motivate, foster teamwork, and supervise direct reports
- Knowledge and ability concerning specific machine capacity and capability issues
- Capable to increase manufacturing efficiencies through effective scheduling
- Knowledge of products specifications and BOM requirements
- PC skills with experience in MS Office and knowledge and use of JD Edwards
