Paint Inspector

Position Summary: The QA Paint Inspector is responsible for monitoring and reporting compliance with quality standards and procedures, the preparation and application of; coating and surface treatments. Recommends methods to improve overall quality and assists in analysing quality concerns. The role will be working offshore supporting two FPSO vessels and a production platform.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Where specialist applications are involved such as FBE coating, glass flake, cementatious sacrificial fire protection, then employee will be required to demonstrate experience or undergo additional training.
• Painting and Coating Specifications
• Flaw/discontinuity identification and Classification
• Blasting and Surface Parameters
• Painting techniques
• Coating repair systems

Education and Experience:
• Engineering diploma preferred or High School Diploma or GED required
• NACE (National Association of Corrosion Engineers) level II. or
• ICor (Institute of Corrosion) level II or
• BGas British Gas CSWIP level 2
• Considerable experience one year of which is post qualification
• BOSIET or FOET
• Minimum one-year experience in an oil & gas plant environment
• Minimum 6 months – 1 year experience in the coating applications in a marine environment

Job Skills and Requirements:
• Full understanding of work management, lockout/tag out and confined space procedures
• Comprehend safety rules, operation maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Working knowledge of pipe-fitting techniques and methods
• Able to read P&ID’s

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to perform repetitive movements, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and twist
• Ability to frequently lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds
• Ability to move in and around confined and clutter places and uneven areas
