Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Foster strong relationships with customers, design teams, specialty contractors, suppliers, and user groups, ensuring alignment with core values and exceeding customer expectations.
- Collaborate with external contractors to create and maintain project schedules.
- Evaluate significant contractor proposals and provide recommendations.
- Participate in the review of schedule deviations and change control processes.
- Develop and oversee the master schedule for various capital projects.
- Review and manage all schedule deliverables, including preparing the Basis of Schedule and reporting schedule KPIs.
- Conduct project retrospectives to compare actual performance with proposals and recommend process improvements to enhance profitability and accuracy.
- Contribute to the planning and scheduling knowledge base by creating templates, WBS methodology, and understanding schedule risks.
Requirements
- Possession of a technical diploma or a bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, or a related discipline.
- At least 15 years of professional experience in industrial construction projects, with a minimum of 10 years focused on scheduling and planning.
- Holding a project management certification (such as PMP, CAPM, or an equivalent) is beneficial.
- A professional engineering designation (P. Eng) is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in using Primavera P6.
- Familiarity with other scheduling or project management software is advantageous.
- Extensive experience in various industrial sectors, particularly in renewables, production plants, pipelines, and water/wastewater, is highly preferred.
