Principal C&I Engineer

Control and Instrumentation Engineer
TRS Staffing is looking for a Senior C&I Engineer for an outside IR35 contract working on a hybrid basis from Surrey. The concept and early FEED stage project is requiring a senior-level contractor to start as soon as possible.
Basic Job Requirements
The successful candidate will...
• Lead medium size teams of Engineers and designer within local office or global workshare offices project.
• Actively promote the engineering and design team to deliver high quality Controls and Instrumentation deliverables including control room layouts, cable routing layouts, instrument index/IO lists etc within allocated budget and schedule.
• Check Controls and Instrumentation deliverables to ensure compliance with applicable national and international standards. Implement company’s quality requirements and client’s engineering specifications.
• Take ownership of controls and instrument equipment package specification.
• Prepare work-hour estimate, delivery schedule and material take-offs during proposal and FEED (Front End Engineering and Design) stages.
• Plan and coordinate Controls and Instrumentation requirements with other engineering disciplines and global work-share offices. Actively engage with client, contractors, vendors and engineering management to accomplish project objectives.
• Undertake assignment to construction site or global workshare offices as per project requirements.

Other Job Requirements
• A proven track record as a Controls and Instrument Engineer in concept and FEED projects for Oil & Gas (onshore/offshore) or other Energy industry.
• Knowledge of national and international codes and standards (BS, IEC).
• Strong understanding of safety standards, equipment layout and plant design.
• Overall knowledge of a range of CAD, and 3D modelling tools.
• Knowledge of Piping and Instrument Diagram (P&ID) representation. Ability to develop control strategies and represent on P&ID.
• Knowledge of instrument design and installation requirements. Participated in model reviews.
• Has knowledge of and has written narrative specifications for Distributed Control Systems, Programmable Logic Controllers and Safety Instrumented systems hardware and software applications.
• Chartered Engineer.
