We are currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity to work for our market-leading client who is looking for a Production Technician on a Contract basis. You will form part of a multi discipline team that are expected to carry out various works to a high quality and safety standard.

Reports To: Production Supervisor

Background: A Production Technician must operate plant process and utility systems effectively and safety. It is expected that procedures will be followed at all times and that O&M Contractor and local regulatory compliance met in all aspects of work. The Production Technician will facilitate routine maintenance by isolations and reinstatement, liaising with CRO.

 

Authority: The Production Technician is authorised to operate the process and utility systems safely and efficiently and help to prepare such plant for maintenance.

 

Immediate Subordinates: Subcontractors, Visitors, Vendors, external and unplanned or temporary services.

 

Accountable For: Typical Responsibilities & Standards

1) Process

Start up, Operate, Monitor and Shut Down Process and Utility systems.

Monitor, maintain and optimize process parameters (Level, flow, temperature, pressure etc) within operating requirements.

Ensure sampling is carried out and sample results are acted upon.

Trouble shoot to maximize sales quality and delivery volume to identify problems.

Maintain discharge water quality within current O&M Contractor or local guidelines.

Monitor and operate electrical/hydraulic control panels, safety and emergency shutdown devices, Fire and Gas Systems.

Ensure accurate and timely production reporting and logging is submitted daily or as required by company.

Witness third party calibrations when appropriate to provide verification of meter factors and volumes.

Prove export oil meters.

2) Marine/Safety

Work to O&M Contractor Management System policies and procedures in particular Isolation Standards, and PTW.

Carry out all operations in safe and environmentally sound manner.

Report all discharges, leaks, spills, injuries, and incidents, immediately.

Ensure vendor and subcontract personnel within responsibility understand and comply with current environmental regulations.

Carry out Emergency Response role

3) Maintenance

Facilitate maintenance operations by applying/removing isolations as required.

Operation under PTW system, Toolbox Talk and Risk Assessments.

Advise maintenance personnel on hazards of plant and equipment.

Maintain clear and precise communications during maintenance operations.

4) Interpersonal Skills & Suitability

Control activities of vendor and subcontractor personnel.

Create and maintain effective working relationships

Create and maintain positive work culture.

Units Of Competence

1. Prepare process and utility systems for operation

2. Operate and monitor process and utility systems

3. Prepare process and utility systems for shutdown

4. Isolate and reinstate process and utility systems for maintenance and repair

5. Contribute to control of critical situations and respond to emergencies

6. Monitor and maintain pollution control measures

7. Carry out emergency response role

8. Provide any additional duties as required byt the OIM/Unit Spt. and /or HOD to maintain safe and efficient running of the Vessel.

 

Additional Competences Required:

 Pre-hire Qualifications and Experience:

Proven experience and/or qualified to N/SVQ Hydrocarbon Processing Level 2 or similar qualification level from country of origin.

3 years experience of hydrocarbon processing systems and utilities.

Knowledge of ESD F&G and DCS operation.

Good understanding of Permit to Work, Mechanical Isolation Standards and Risk Assessment

Medically fit to offshore International standards such as ENG1 or equivalent.

 

Personal Skills

Personal: Conscientious, safety conscious. Capable of assertive and positive communications and actions.

Teamwork: Makes effective and supportive team member. Positive action taken to support team. Good levels of written and spoken communication in English language. Clear understanding of behavioural and personnel issues.

Technical: Good standard of technical, and professional knowledge as defined by competences. Good knowledge of hydrocarbon process and utility and control systems.
