Job Title: Project Controls Specialist
Location: Kingsport, TN
Industry: Industrial Maintenance and Construction
Status of Hire: direct placement; permanent
Pay: $40/hr - $55/hr (exempt)
Hours: M-F; 40-hours; some OT; on-site

Summary:
Project Scheduler to lead the project planning process and manage project schedules and respective progress, reporting, and analyses for the project within a fast-growing company. This position requires experience working in an integrated team and the person MUST have a background in scheduling for major industrial construction.

Roles and responsibilities:
  • Support and foster PMT (Project Management Team) personnel in the development of the project schedule at the execution phase.
  • Ensure schedules are developed on the front end through integrated planning sessions with all necessary stakeholders to ensure the full SoW (Scope of Work).
  • Develop the BoS (Basis of Schedule) and ensure alignment with the project execution plan and obtain sign off by all responsible stakeholders.
  • Build progress plans, S-Curves, and histograms based on resource loaded baseline schedule and ensure the critical and near critical path is clearly defined.
  • Conduct time impact, productivity impact, quantity growth, out of sequence impact, concurrent delay, and other analyses to support commercial changes or claims support.
  • Develop and update weekly Project Craft Performance Factors and Quantity installed data collection and metrics reporting
  • Critical Path Analyses and Schedule Risk analyses.
  • Advanced Work Package Planning preferred
  • Ability to develop and manage the conversion of area/unit schedule to systems-based schedule.
  • Effectively communicate with all internal and external stakeholders regarding all schedule/progress related matters and concerns
  • Read and interpret construction specifications.
  • Provide input and updates to scheduling.

Qualifications and requirements:
  • 5 years of Industrial Construction Management experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, time management and organizational skills are required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Architecture, Planning, Construction Management, or related field is preferred but job experience will be considered.
  • Capable of handling multiple projects.
  • Constructability & strategy leadership.
  • Firm knowledge of construction, Maintenance project in Industrial setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with executive level internal & external clients
  • Organizational & detailed-oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage differing needs of the business.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, P6 and Microsoft Project
  • Ability to multi-task working within a team structure and independently.

The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions are sedentary but may require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling up to 20 pounds; some climbing and balancing; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger and motor dexterity.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers/printers/scanners/fax machines, phones, filing cabinets, etc.  Employee must have the ability to transport necessary equipment and supplies and set-up for meetings, etc.  The employee must have a current driver’s license and have the ability to travel to various locations at times for various reasons.
