We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead medium to large-scale engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction (EPFC/CM) projects. This role is responsible for delivering projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and in line with contractual and commercial objectives.  The role is based in Johannesburg.

Job Summary:
  • This position provides leadership in the organization or functional area and is primarily engaged in management activities that establish the direction of a department, function, or project. The position requires the application of knowledge gained from experience and expertise to the job duties and responsibilities. The position will make decisions in areas that may impact the organization and its employees, clients, budgets, policies, procedures, work practices, or compliance programs.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead project execution from initiation through completion and close-out.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, cost, quality, and risk.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual, safety, environmental, and company requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Oversee project controls, change management, reporting, and financial performance.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across engineering, procurement, and construction functions.
  • Drive project profitability and operational excellence.
  • Support proposal development, project planning, and business growth initiatives.
  • Mentor and develop project team members.
Qualifications & Skill Requirements:
  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and twelve (12) years* of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to sixteen (16) years* if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements.
  • Significant experience managing large engineering, EPC/EPFC, construction, or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong leadership, commercial, and contract management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, risks, and stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and project delivery excellence.
Knowledge:
  • Good knowledge and experience on project design, engineering, procurement, material management, construction, commissioning, start up, turn-over work processes, sequencing, and interfaces
  • Project Controls and Finance including understanding of:
  • Scheduling (including manpower loading)
  • Progress measurement
  • Risk assessment and management
  • Code of accounts
  • Work breakdown structure
  • Change management
  • Cost control
  • Estimating process and planning
  • Global Pricing Model (GPM), Project Status Review (PSR) and Project Margin Analysis Report (PMAR) development and reporting.
  • Appreciation of key elements of contract law and when to engage legal.
  • Regulatory requirements including permitting.
  • Understanding of project funding.
