Summary:

This position assists and supports others in a department, subdivision, function, or project. The position relies primarily on established policies, procedures, and applicable work practices to make decisions as they apply to the job duties and responsibilities.

Scope:

The position reports to the Site Quality Manager and E&I Site Coordinator and provides inspection services to support the site quality program on projects. The purpose of this position is to perform the essential job duties and functions listed below with the overall objective of providing our client with projects that comply with the quality requirements stipulated in our prime contracts.

Principal Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Review and become familiar with the project technical requirements such as the prime contract, applicable codes, standards, and specifications
• Perform, as directed by supervision, various inspections, examinations, and tests to determine compliance with applicable specifications, drawings, procedures, codes, and standards
• Monitor/inspect project and construction execution by regular surveillance and/or inspection as directed by the Site Quality Manager or supervisor to ensure that they comply with project requirements. Issue surveillance or inspection reports to appropriate parties and follow up until closure as required
• Participate, when requested by the Site Quality Manager or supervisor, with the identification of nonconforming conditions and document them on non-conformance reports
• Review test reports to verify compliance with contractual requirements (this may be delegated to a suitably qualified Company Construction Quality person)
• Ensure that documentation is being completed, signed off, and compiled as the work progresses so as to support turnover and record retention activities at the project site
• Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards
• Plan, organize, and carry out assignments as directed
• Adhere to and support Company’s Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies
• Effectively develop and apply the Core Skills to the job
• Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality
• Other duties as assigned

Typical Minimum Qualifications - Related Education, Experience & Skills:

• A combination of education and directly related experience equal to seven (7) years in the Petrochemical Industry; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local regulations
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner

Other Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform physical Quality inspection of a variety of Electrical and Instrumentation activities which may include but not limited to: ATEX inspections, Electrical Heat Tracing installations, audits to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Act as the main point of contact for contractors and client ensuring seamless communication and understanding of their needs.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations including ATEX for explosion safety for fire risk electrical equipment and CE markings for machinery directives.
• Stay abreast of the latest Dutch laws and regulations adapting inspection processes accordingly.
• Specialize in ATEX inspections focusing on gas and dust explosion hazards.
• Conduct safety inspections of lightning protection devices (inspections).
• Maintain accurate documentation of inspections including inspection plans risk analyses and supervision plans.
• Generate comprehensive reports for clients detailing inspection findings recommendations and compliance status.

Preferred Qualifications - Related Education, Experience & Skills:

• Three (3) years of experience working as a Electrical Safety (ATEX) and Instrumentation quality inspector
• Certification by a recognized authority (NEN 3140 VP)
• Intermediate or expert computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email as well as the basic or intermediate use of spreadsheets and electronic presentations
• Oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work well with others
