The HV Senior Specialist is included in the HV team and together with the Regional HV Manager, is responsible for the daily communication, coordination, corporation etc. towards the Operations Site Manager.

HV Senior Specialist is responsible for maintenance, operational and safety switching of the High Voltage (HV) & Low Voltage (LV) assets within his area defined by HV Regional Manager, which includes:
• Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) HV switchgear, submarine cables (array cables)
• Offshore Substation (OSS) Generator Owned HV Switchgear
• Associated Generator Owned Aux plant and equipment Inc SCADA

The HV Senior Specialist is responsible for ensuring that operational, safety switching and electrical/mechanical isolation of HV & LV assets is performed in accordance with Electrical Safety Rules (OESR). This also includes superior decision power regarding energisation of above stated assets.

The HV Senior Specialist is responsible for given inputs to the operation & maintenance management program, including preparation of relevant analysis’ for cost benefit improvements and optimisations, service improvement analysis, service performance reviews, statutory inspections etc.

The HV Senior Specialist is responsible for within his area of responsibility to; report to relevant stakeholders in an agreed format, content and format continuously seek to optimize availability in most cost effective and safe way

Key Tasks:
• Alignment with the Health and Safety Team regarding OESR
• Authorised under HV safety rules,
• Implementing and administration of the OESR on Site
• To operate the High Voltage & Low Voltage (HV/LV) Network in a safe and controlled manner, including providing safety from the HV/LV Network for working parties under his/her control
• Operational and safety switching, including coordinating, planning, performing and where appropriate supervision of the inspection and maintenance of the asset
• Daily coordination, communication and planning of HV/LV operations and maintenance activitie
• Maintenance services of the assets
• Will cover all HV/LV maintenance work both scheduled and unscheduled as required
• Controlling and switching the HV/LV network
• Writing, approving and following-up/controlling switching schedules for the HV/LV network
• Writing, issuing and cancelling Safety Documents as part of the Permit to Work system
• Production of Risk Assessments and Method Statements where required
• Scrutiny of handover documentation for detail and suitability
• Liaison with the Control Engineer
• Report all activities to the HV Regional Manager for inclusion into reports
• Operating as a Safety Coordinator for all cross border/boundary operational activities
• Fault analyse, rectify, and documentation
• Participate in Site Operations & Maintenance (O&M) meetings and O&M meetings with service providers management
• Manage and monitor the OESR for operational and safety switching, including a corresponding Permit to Work system for both electrical and mechanical isolation
• Operate, give and extract data, working orders etc. from the operation & maintenance management program
• Give inputs to weekly, monthly and annual forecast of maintenance plan and program
• Give inputs to lessons learnt
• Give inputs to snagging
• list of the affected assets
• Be proactive in maintaining competence level required for the job

Essential Requirements & Qualifications:
• Senior Authorised Person under OESR with expericence from 1-34Kv
• Electrical engineering working experience in a relevant industry, including detailed knowledge and understanding of maintenance programs and planning
• 3+ years of electrical working and maintenance experience as Senior Authorised Person operating under company HV Safety Rules
• Current GWOs + Medical in place incl BOSIET
• Must hold Heli Hoist in date certification
• Physically fit, role will require ladder climbing
• Full driving license required
• Must be flexible with regard to working patterns
• Planning & reporting skills
• Communication& management skills
Desirable:
• Electrical/Electronic Engineering degree or equivalent
• HV fault finding and analysis experience
• Experience working on various Siemens WTGs
• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
