Senior Estimator

TRS Staffing Solutions has exciting opportunity for a Senior Estimator to work for a client in Toronto, ON. This is a perfect opportunity for individuals who are looking to grow their skills in a multinational company and work on exciting projects.

The Ideal Candidate will have

• A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or similar discipline
• 8-10 years of experience
• Previous experience in major infrastructure projects
• Experience with using HeavyBid, Timberline, Chief Estimator or MC2 Software
• Good knowledge of contracts, codes, industry practices, key trade contractors, local trades, and subcontractors
• French-speaking is an asset
• Ability to work with deadlines and in a team environment
• Proven ability to effectively manage, lead and mentor staff

Responsibilities:

• Lead and participate in the preliminary and final cost estimates
• Lead the Estimating team on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the company as well as the construction industry
• Analyze, identify and evaluate project opportunities and risks and mitigation strategies
• Perform all stages of an estimate, including estimate organization, take-off, pricing, review and closeout
• Identify local subcontractors and suppliers, solicit quotes and prepare comparison sheets
• Prepare and participate in meetings with clients, joint venture partners and consultants
• Prepare work breakdown structures
• Perform all other related task that will help complete the project
