Job profile
Perform day-to-day hands-on supervision on a team of maintenance technicians in carrying out planned maintenance and emergency breakdown trouble shooting and repair to Heavy-duty Mobile Equipment.

Main duties and responsibilities
 Liaise with end users and other section heads on Heavy-duty Mobile Equipment project and maintenance works.
 Assist the Heavy Equipment Superintendent in preparing modification, overhaul and maintenance work plans, schedules, operation & maintenance procedures, work safety guidelines and service checklists for the Heavy-duty Mobile Equipment.
 Have knowledge of AC systems and HVAC.
 Implement emergency procedures and contingency plans.
 Lead and supervise a team of maintenance technicians to carry out regular planned service and maintenance works including emergency breakdown trouble shooting and repair to the mechanical systems (such as structures, transmission drives & gears, diesel engine & alternator, wire ropes & reeving and hydraulic drives … etc.) on the Heavy-duty Mobile Equipment.
 Maintain the mechanical systems of the Heavy-duty Mobile Equipment in sound operational status by following equipment OEM’s operation and maintenance instructions and procedures.
 Help the Heavy Equipment Superintendent in evaluating Heavy-duty Mobile Equipment mechanical systems’ components, parts and materials availability; and recommend stock level for the critical parts.
 Plan, implement and monitor the progress of maintenance programs with the best practice aiming at minimizing costs while optimizing equipment reliability.
 Update and housekeep Heavy-duty Mobile Equipment’ mechanical system drawings, layouts, schematics, operation and maintenance manuals.
 Help the Heavy Equipment Superintendent in formulating CAPEX and OPEX (R&M) of the section.
 Conduct daily work briefing to staff and monitor manning, materials and equipment deployment is in a cost-effective manner.
 Control spare parts, materials & equipment usage and overtime works.
 Implement housekeeping and workshop management system including proper tools and equipment (including PPEs) usage and effective stock control.
 Recommend and arrange overtime works based on actual work need.
 Prepare regular reports on work progress, equipment serviceability and performance, work safety, KPIs, manning deployment, overtimes, budget control and cost saving initiatives.
 Set up and maintain an archive on all maintenance or service logs, records and checklists with proper verification and endorsement signatures.
 Assist the Heavy Equipment Superintendent in assessing the Heavy-duty Mobile Equipment mechanical systems’ serviceability and reliability performance with improvement, upgrade or replacement recommendation.
 Enforce and ensure all staff undertakes their duties in compliance with environmental, safety & health standards and practices in line with Company’s policies, rules, regulations and work procedures at all time.
 Attend relevant internal & external meetings and provide reports to the Heavy Equipment Superintendent as and when required.
 Assist the Heavy Equipment Superintendent in assessing staff technical competencies and identifying training needs.
 Raise purchase requisition or sign GRN for all materials and parts.
 Deputize the Heavy Equipment Superintendent and report to the Assistant Maintenance Manager while the Heavy Equipment Superintendent is out of office.
 Work at high level.
 Perform shift duty to cope with work requirement if require.
 Work overtime as requested by the Supervisor/Company based on actual need.
 Respond to any emergency calls and report duty under emergency to provide backup support.
 Perform other duties and tasks assigned by the Supervisor/Company from time to time.

Education and Experience
 Bachelor’s degree or Higher Diploma in Mechanical/Marine Engineering or equivalent qualification.
 Minimum 5 years’ relevant working experience in Heavy-duty Mobile Equipment Maintenance in a container terminal.
 Possess hands-on experience in mechanical systems including structures, transmission drives & gears, diesel engine & alternator, wire ropes & reeving system and hydraulic drive systems.
 Initiative, innovative and result-oriented.
 Proficient in written and spoken English.
 Strong supervisory, interpersonal and coaching skills.
 Good communication and organizational skills.
 Good problem solving ability.
 Good report writing and presentation skills.
 Possess an advanced level of computer skills.
 Mature and able to work independently and under pressure.
 Possess good performance record of accomplishment with previous employers.
