Description:
The role is part of the Project Leadership Team and reports to the Development Project Lead. It involves leading a large, multi‑disciplinary team responsible for all preparatory work—covering HSE, engineering, procurement, and project management—to ensure the offshore wind project is fully ready to enter construction at Final Investment Decision (FID). The team also provides the technical and commercial analysis needed for business cases and value‑optimisation activities that support the FID process.
Key Responsibilities
- Proven leadership of large, multi‑disciplinary and multi‑cultural project teams, including building strong local project management capability.
- Strong track record of delivering projects fully compliant with international/local regulations and high HSE standards, including CDM 2015 compliance and contractor HSE management.
- Experience assuring that offshore windfarms can be built safely, environmentally responsibly, and within the cost, schedule, quality, and technical parameters set at FID.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective project delivery frameworks—people, processes, and systems—across the full project lifecycle.
- Demonstrated success managing major construction and support contracts, coordinating cross-disciplinary workstreams, understanding offshore construction risks, and influencing others to deliver results.
Key Qualifications
- Qualifications to degree level in an engineering discipline or equivalent science/numerate qualification
- Membership of a project management professional body and/or accreditation would be advantageous
- At least 10 years of experience of safely delivering complex offshore construction projects, preferably involving HV electrical systems and wind turbines to quality, schedule and cost expectations
- Experience of successfully representing your company in engagements with a wide range of key stakeholders
