TRS Staffing Solutions has exciting opportunities for a Senior Risk Specialist to work with a leading construction company in Canada. Our client is based in Toronto, ON, building some of the most impactful rail & transit projects across Canada. This is a perfect opportunity for senior level project controls professionals to work on major projects and grow within a large company.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Organize and manage documentation and meetings related to Risk Assessments and their outcomes.
  • Update the project's risk register and communicate updates to key stakeholders.
  • Participate in Risk Management Model (RM3) activities, including coordinating audits.
  • Provide support during inspections or audits by Contracting Authorities.
  • Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Coordinate risk management tasks within the risk and compliance team.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, value addition, and cost reduction efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with risk, compliance, and safety policies.
  • Maintain regular and ad hoc risk and compliance reporting processes.
  • Foster reliable collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Follow best practices aligned with regulations and industry trends.
  • Assist in implementing STC risk and compliance systems.
  • Engage in risk and compliance projects as needed.
  • Drive an inclusive culture promoting equity, diverse perspectives, and career progression.

Your Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of risk management experience, preferably in rail or related industries.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Analytics, Statistics, or related field; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Desirable certifications: Certified Analytics Professional (CAP), Canadian Risk Management (CRM), or Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • Experience with the Monte Carlo Risk assessment tool.
  • Familiarity with AACE recommended practices for risk and contingency development.
  • Experience in large, complex projects (brownfield or greenfield).
  • Adaptability to fast-paced startup environments and willingness to learn new systems and procedures.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across the organization.
  • Respectful and appreciative interaction with stakeholders and team members.
  • Knowledge of Risk and Compliance principles and legal regulations preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in diverse, intercultural environments.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with technical and commercial terms in contract management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Advanced Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
  • Fluency in English.
