Our client, a global engineering consultancy is looking for a Senior Structural Maritime Engineer to join them on a two year fixed term contract.
Duties include:
  • Led the assessment and review of jetty and pier design specifications.
  • Evaluated structural soundness and material suitability to ensure design integrity.
  • Identified potential issues and provided recommendations to improve asset reliability and performance.
  • Collaborated with external stakeholders, including port authorities and towage service providers.
  • Coordinated with internal teams such as Marine Engineers, consultants, and the PMO.
  • Delivered detailed reports and findings to the client, supported by the PMO team.
Requirements:
  • Possess 7–20 years of experience in Structural Maritime Engineering across environments such as jetties, piers, dockyards, shipyards, and offshore platforms.
  • Skilled in analysing maritime structural designs and assessing their operational effectiveness.
  • Demonstrate a meticulous approach to design precision, evaluation, and documentation.
  • Conduct safety assessments, identify potential hazards, and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Experienced in navigating complex matrix organisations and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering.
  • Must reside within commuting distance of Cork; relocation support is not available.
